!! OMG, twist: Is Adam Lambert the next ‘American Idol’ judge? !!

With Jennifer Lopez off the show and Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler’s contacts up in the air, American Idol may soon have a new judge in Adam Lambert. Producers have reportedly been in talks with the former contestant and runner-up for about a month. “He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start,” a source told E! “He knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of the judges’ comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can’t go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him.” Sure, they do. But what does it say to new contestants that someone who technically lost the competition is now a judge? It says being named ‘the next American idol’ doesn’t really matter…

  1. that would be awesome !!! Adam lambert will be the most PERFECT JUDGE ever in the history of AMERICAN IDOL !!!!! he should be the oNe who WON !!!!! but, its okay !! atleast, he will be back at the AI stage :))) we love ADAM :)))) FOREVER !!!!! i cant wait to buy his second album : TRESSPASING

  2. “But what does it say to new contestants that someone who technically lost the competition is now a judge? It is about what you do with it when you leave Idol that matters..it doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure that out..no matter who the judges are… Adam would make a great judge..\hes articulate, smart, witty, knowledgeable and not afraid to give a true opinion. Adam has been in show business since he was 10 yrs old, hes more than capable and credible to be a judge on AI.

  3. As long as it isn’t that low class trashy untalented tacky old dinosaur from the 1990s. Yes, you JHO Bag, how dare YOU judge a singing competition!

This goes to show you that front runners are always the real winners. Kris Allen “won” because his homophobic “Christian” town voted for him repeatedly to beat Adam Lambert because he’s gay.
    How ironic! Good for Adam!

  5. When will this terrible show go away?

  6. I’m sure everybody’s already figured out that being named the next American Idol doesn’t mean much; many of the winners are not successful, and several of the contestants who did not win have done alright. It’s not really even about winning anymore, it’s just about exposure. I think Adam would be a perfect choice; his was the last season I watched and I love his music, he knows his stuff. I might go back to watching AI if he’s on board.

  7. Wow, so there is someone who has less right to be a judge of the musical talent of others than Jennifer Lopez! I didn’t think it was possible. It’s not that he’s not a decent performer but he’s hardly experienced in the industry.

  8. Please,no. Just no. How about, no. He doesn’t have any credibility. He is great at what he does, but it is very one-dimensional. Bad choice and guaranteed to turn a lot of viewers off. Way off.

  9. I haven’t watched AI since Adam lost. I may watch again.

  10. I can’t think of a person better suited to be an AI judge. Adam is compassionate, without fawning. Adam is witty, without being sarcastic. He is incredibly knowledgeable about vocal technique AND performing. Adam is honest to a fault, without being harsh. He has tons of experience and is extremely articulate. Adam Lambert is actually tailor made for this position. Would he be up for it? Hard to say. He is promoting his brilliant new album, Trespassing, and fronting Queen. He could actually save this show! Adam is also very good looking, young, and very well liked and respected in the music industry! Brilliant choice!

  11. Why is this show still on?! Is it even relevant?

  12. I think Adam would make a fantastic addition to the panel. He is always very respectful, thoughtful and helpful in his critiques, whether as a mentor on AI or as a guest judge on Project Runway.
Plus, I would definitely start watching AI again. 🙂
