After surviving a contentious fight in the Canadian House of Commons, the federal gay marriage bill should pass easily in the Senate and become law by the end of July, making Canada the third fourth country in the world to legalize gay marriage nationwide, after Spain, which just passed the law today, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
