!! OMG, quote of the day: Shawn Mendes on battling anxiety and depression !!

“I made a conscious effort to be more connected to the people in my life. I found I was closing myself off from everybody, thinking that would help me battle it… then realizing the only way I was going to battle it was completely opening up and letting people in. People forget how important it is to talk to your family and to talk to your friends about what’s going on in your life, because the more you tell people how you feel, the more you understand how you feel and you have more control of your emotions.”

Shawn is so right, hit the head dead on. That feeling not connected can lead you to drugs trying to get comfort, then you end up going to AA or NA talking it out there… take the short cut if needed and get free Counseling should you have no one to talk to, can’t hurt.

  2. SO true, but much like Colton Haynes, all his “peeps” around him don’t want their gravy train to stop so they tell him to continue to be closeted to remain a “success.” Sad. He’ll be out eventually and things will be much easier for him. He’s gorgeous and talented, a rare combination.

I always wondered what guys like him have to be depressed about? I mean, he’s tall, gorgeous, has a fantastic delicious looking body, and has a fantastic singing voice with his own music! But then I remember all the times I have been depressed (many, many times) and realized that everyone can be depressed. I really hope he talks to his family and friends often, even just to say “Hello”. Take care of yourself Shawn. A big fan here.

    • I started reading your comment and was ready to correct you but then got to the part where you said you realize everyone can be depressed. Celebrities of all types can become depressed simply because they are under pressure to always be this perfect version of themselves or in cases like LGBTIAQ+ celebs be someone they aren’t. And that is just by Hollywood. Throw in the pressure that their fans, families, and even they put on themselves on top of that and you have a perfect recipe for depression and substance abuse.

    • You will find that somehow peoples always trying the other peoples weakness and make a mess with it. Always looking what bad and making it a problem. Then everybody wants to make their life looks flawless and mostly trying too hard. Thats depressing.

  4. God damn he is absolutely one fine piece of man. Would love to lick him everywhere!

  5. Coming out also helps.
