!! OMG, how deceitful: Lying Dad !!

EnglishCockerSpaniel_wb.jpg
A father on Craigslist is pleading for some help to get rid of his terrible dog:

My deceased aunt gave my two kids a Cocker Spaniel a few months back. The dog has been a terror and become overwhelming for me. I am a single father raising two young children. I cannot face telling the kids that the dog must go. I have found a good home for the dog, and just need someone to transport the dog, and play the villain.

Premise: You will be the dog walker hired by daddy (me) to walk Skittles. I will introduce you to the kids, and you will tell them you are going to help Skittles get her exercise when Daddy is too busy to walk her. At that point you will walk Skittles to your car and take her to her new family 20 minutes from my place. Then return holding just a leash. The story will be that Skittles broke free of the leash and took off. At this point prepare for crying, things being thrown at you, and possibly cursing. My kids are young and dramatic, their girls.

Pay will be $500. The job will take roughly 2 hours at best.

This job is ideal for an actor looking to diversify their role base, or someone who genuinely likes to make children cry. Acting experience is a plus, but not necessary. Please inform me of any prior experience in this kind of situation.

How rude! But I might understand if the dog was anything like THIS.

  1. whats up Ive been following this website for a bit – i wanted to articulate how much i treasure this place:)

  2. What a silly man. What does this say about his parenting skills if his daughters won’t be able to handle something as trivial as this?
Also loved how he’s all like: “my kids are young and dramatic, their girls”.
So…by default girls tend to be dramatic? That’s utterly ridiculous. His parenting skills are an epic FAIL. If you can’t be honest with your own children…that’s just sad.
“I cannot face the kids…” Why not? What’s the worst that they could possibly do? Go all ‘Children of the Corn’ on you? Psh, grow some balls dude.

  3. AND he is giving it to a family or someone who wants the dog too! so he manages to balance out everything.

  4. ChrisM, I second everything you said. Lots of people would just dump the dog on a rural road and tell the kids it ran away or got loose. Isn’t the reason they do that mainly to avoid being seen as a villain by the children? At least he’s not dumping the dog, and he’s offering to give someone who needs it a way to earn some quick cash. It’s a little unusual, but why be so judgmental?

  5. I know the guy sounds like a slimeball but in all honesty I think he deserves a break. At least he’s not taking the dog to the pound to be put down nor dumping it in a field along the road somewhere most likely to be killed by a car. And $500 is a sizable sum of money so it seems obvious that he’s trying to buy off his guilt but I think maybe still doing what’s best for the dog.
