!! OMG, how racist: Anti-Gay Comic !!

brent2.jpg
I know we’re technically not a race, but you know, close enough. Anyway, Oklahoma County Commissioner Brent Rinehart has published a comic book containing lots of homophobic rhetoric. It depicts gays as evil pedophiles and all the usual stuff.
The content’s horrible, but I kind of like the drawings. Am I a bad person?

  1. Seriously, nothing is better than “Brent is the first Oklahoma county commissioner to complete the roads scholars program of osu.”
Really? Too bad it wasn’t the Rhodes Scholarship program offered only through the University of Oxford. Then it might mean something… mean that you can spell!!
Simple and complete idiocy. It’s sad that people like this are allowed to exist.

  2. Spelling errors are hilarious. Just hilarious. If someone takes the time to publish (whether it be columns, blogs or cartoons), they should have someone check their spelling. Because if there is an error, it makes me want to pelt them with tomatoes. And ignore their work. And poop.

  3. Dear Jason,
I hope you are saying that it’s “just dumb” because (according to the Merriam-Webster definition for “race”) we are more than “close enough” to be considered a race.

Then again, you may not agree with my interpretation of 2b.

Of course, as soon as I hit “post it” I realised that I had misspelled “too blinded” with “to blinded”. I guess I was too blinded by my indignance!

  5. Obviously an attempt to fashion a Chick Tract for this guy (www.chick.com)… what I love is the misspellings… “pedaphiles”? Really?

I can’t even get offended by this. “pedifile”, “get use to it”. Who drew this? Brent’s 10 year-old son? I guess they’re to blinded by their hate to spell correctly.

We’re not a race, but I prefer to use the word racist as opposed to homophobic. When you call someone homophobic it doesn’t carry the same shame or disgust as when someone is called a racist – even though the meaning is technically the same.

  8. I’m a gay Scout leader.. In my country there was never any argument about it (at least not in my lifetime). It’s never been assumed that because I like men that I’m more likely to abuse a child (all of our sections are open to bth boys and girls).

  9. After downloading and reading this propaganda, I got stuck on how anyone could call fellow candidates and US Citizens, “Enemies”… Very dark campaign comics…. I wish him the best when he is appointed to sell ice cubes….

  10. We are not “close enough” to being a “race.” That’s just dumb.
