!! OMG, listen to Kate Bush’s roboticized redux of ‘Deeper Understanding’ !!

An exciting week lies ahead for Kate Bush fans. The reclusive singer is releasing a new single tomorrow, an updated version of her 1989 song “Deeper Understanding” that is two-minutes longer than the original and features her son Albert singing as the ‘computer programme’. The track is taken from Bush’s new record Director’s Cut, a reworking of songs from The Sensual World and The Red Shoes. In addition to new vocals, the album features three complete re-recordings including a retitled version of “The Sensual World” featuring lyrics taken from James Joyce’s Ulysses (which she couldn’t get permission to use the first time around) and an all-new version of the tearjerker “This Woman’s Work”.
Here’s what Kate had to say about Director’s Cut in a press release:

For some time I have felt that I wanted to revisit tracks from these two albums and that they could benefit from having new life breathed into them. Lots of work had gone into the two original albums and now these songs have another layer of work woven into their fabric. I think of this as a new album.
