Bradford James Cox of Deerhunter fame and his solo project Atlas Sound played a lengthy set to a sold out Lee’s Palace in Toronto Saturday night. His brand of garage punk has been described as “pleasant guitar noise-clouds‘, but to most that I talked to that night, too mellow and too long.
He was a busy man lending himself to not only vocals, but electric and acoustic guitars and the occasional song on drums.
Sharing the stage with him was electronic English band Broadcast. They started their set with 15 minutes of noise while psychedelic projections played in the background. Dressed all in white, lead singer Trish Keenen eventually inched away from all her electronic gadgets and took to the front of the stage for some of their poppy hits, ‘I Found the F’ and ‘Black Cat’ to name a few.
More photos after the jump.
