!! OMG, RIP to Hollywood comedy legend Catherine O’Hara, dead at 71 !!

The world has lost a MASSIVE, HUGE, legendary icon today.

Catherine O’Hara‘s agency, Creative Artists Agency, confirmed her passing in a statement shared to Page Six that read,

“Prolific multi-award-winning actress, writer, and comedian Catherine O’Hara died today at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness.”

The Los Angeles Fire Department told TMZ that they responded to a call to the beloved acting icon’s home at 4:48 a.m. local time before transporting her to the hospital in “serious” condition. Her cause of death is still unknown.

A big part of SCTV, in 1988, the Canadian actress and comedian starred as Delia Deetz, alongside Winona Ryder and Alec Baldwin in “Beetlejuice.”

She then went on to famously portray Macaulay Culkin’s mom in the “Home Alone” franchise.

In 2015, her career earned a second wind with her return to TV as Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek.” In 2020, she won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the role in 2020.
