TIME Magazine features newly-out trans actor Elliot Page on their cover this month!
In his first interview since coming out as trans, Elliot talks candidly about his experiences working in Hollywood since the age of 10, coming out as gay in 2014, and the experience of sharing his truth with the world last year. “I was finally able to embrace being transgender,” Page says, “and letting myself fully become who I am.”
Elliot talks about family acceptance, surgery, privilege, and pride. “My privilege has allowed me to have resources to get through and to be where I am today,” Page says, “and of course I want to use that privilege and platform to help in the ways I can.”
He also says that his team has gotten a lot of interest in new roles for him, but besides the third season of The Umbrella Academy, currently filming, no details on his upcoming projects are shared.
We can’t wait to see what projects Elliot has on the horizon. Elliot’s courage to come out as such a big star must help so many young trans people everywhere. Bravo! Read the full Time Mag article here.
I think the choice of photos used for the cover is a poor one. The person I see looks very vulnerable and sad. Doesn’t project someone making a decision that allows then to live the life they want to live. I hope Elliot has a feeling of satisfaction and a good life ahead.
He looks constipated.
