There are some folks out there who would want to peg Amber Heard as a simple gold-digger, denying her abuse claims and claiming she’s manipulating Johnny Depp for money – but Amber, is donating ALL of the $7 million from her divorce settlement from Depp to two charities, both the American Civil Liberties Union, “with a particular focus to stop violence against women,” and to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, where she has worked as a volunteer for the past ten years.
“As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves,” she said in the statement. “As reported in the media, the amount received in the divorce was $7 million and $7 million is being donated,” she went on. “This is over and above any funds that I have given away in the past and will continue to give away in the future.”
Big-ups to Amber for being so generous during such an unfortunate time in her life, and for helping others find help! BRAVO!
