The change of style was kinda unavoidable – the ‘classic’ Shania was produced (and co-written) by her now ex-husband, so she would have to work with new producers, co-writers, etc.
But I agree with you HG. I don’t like the current generic ‘pop’ music being churned out lately. There must be plenty of producers who could return the Shania we know and love. Even if she went right back to her country beginnings. Most ‘modern’ country music sounds like what Shania was doing 20 years ago.
Overproduced and the lyrics aren’t much (except the “pour me another” pun). Missing the country. Shania doesn’t need to be like current artists–just herself.
