!! OMG, quote of the day: Ryan Murphy defends “Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story” after backlash !!

“I think it’s interesting that he’s [Erik Menendez] issued a statement without having seen the show. It’s really, really hard — if it’s your life — to see your life up on screen…”

“The thing that I find interesting [is] that he doesn’t mention in his quote is, if you watch the show, I would say 60–65% of our show in the scripts and in the film form center around the abuse and what they claimed happened to them. And we do it very carefully and we give them their day in court and they talk openly about it.”

“In this age where people can really talk about sexual abuse, talking about it and writing about it and writing about all points of view can be controversial. It’s a Rashomon kind of approach, where there were four people involved in that, two of them are dead. What about the parents? We had an obligation as storytellers to also try and put in their perspective based on our research, which we did.”

– Creator Ryan Murphy, responding directly to Erik’s criticism in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.

  1. My family and I moved to their former Calabasas neighborhood a few months after the Menendenz family moved from there to the mansion where the men killed the parents. Their previous home burglaries were still being talked about when we moved into the neighborhood.

  2. The show presented both sides of this when it got to the second trial. The actors were good in their parts. The second trial made it look more like Erik instigated it instead of Lyle, Lyle was an idiot to talk to that girl who wrote the book.

    • See, the show really confused you about the real events. You’re talking about the show as if it is factually accurate. Do you know how to draw a line between fantasy and reality? Do your research before you embarass yourself further.. Ryan Murphy’s fan boys are almost as big clowns as he is.

  3. Murphy obviously fetishizes murderers. He’s got issues, and I think he secretly hates Gay men.

    • …and he used to be a republican, if any of you remember, but when he was more in the limelight he changed his position. He hates women, he hates POC, he hates poor people, and he hates the LGBTQ community. Probably still votes Republican. How he made their story a homoerotic incest fantasy, if they really were r*ped since childhood by their dad, then that is in horrible taste. In that interview, he has a smugness when he says he knows for a fact they haven’t seen it (when they have) because they are locked up. Should we believe a person who historically misrepresents, & fetishizes criminals? He needs to find his next “Monster” in the mirror.

  4. Did the brothers tell him how they used to make out ,grope and fuck each other or was that just dramatic license?

  5. Maybe Ryan should watch the commercials for the show. Because it put the boys in a very bad light.

I think he should be unhappy with the ridiculous scene with the plastic surgery. Good grief. And I have 3 older brothers whom I’ve never kissed like that!
