Harry Hill pitched THE JILLON as a feature and got a lot of blank looks, so Steve Coogan’s company Baby Cow told him to make a short taster first. It went up on YouTube last week: 15 minutes, directed by Arthur Studholme, about an 86-year-old woman (Flip Webster) who has spent years wanting a baby with her husband (Richard Syms) and finally gets one. Richard Ayoade plays the narrator, which tells you roughly what register you’re in. The baby is the problem. The A.V. Club called the title creature
“kind of what a baby would look like if it was designed by someone who doesn’t like babies very much.”
-Sounds like something right up our alley!
“If we rack up enough of the Likes maybe we’ll get to make the long one,”
