After a few delays, our favorite Swedish pop duo The Sound of Arrows have managed to release their debut album Voyage. It comes out today in North America in digital form but, as far as I can tell, is only getting a physical-major-label-marketing push in the UK/Europe, meaning it could conceivably get re-released in North America in two years time and we’ll have to go through this whole rigmarole all over again when we’re well into our thirties and more interested in cooking at home to the new Feist album than dancing in trendy gay bars to mildly homoerotic Swedish synth pop.
Anyway, Voyage is now streaming in its entirety over at Popjustice.
Also to note: the band have created a gratuitously shirtless music video for their latest single, “Wonders.” Watch it below:
“when we’re well into our thirties and more interested in cooking at home to the new Feist album than dancing in trendy gay bars to mildly homoerotic Swedish synth pop.” If you think liking dance music ends in your 30’s, you have no idea what being gay is about. Where would we be if the Pet Shop Boys retired at 30?? We would only have the likes of rappers left to fill our days with mundane and painful sounding ryhmes repeating over and over.
i’m well into my thirties and am definately more interested in dancing in trendy (well maybe not trendy) gay bars to mildly homoerotic Swedish synth pop than cooking at home to the new Feist album
Who?
I got a physical copy from Amazon.com (US). I love love love these guys.
Pet Shop Boys meets Erasure. Very tired.
This album, three years in the making, completely lives up to its hype and is my favorite album of the year. The arrangements are so lush and beautiful. It’s kind like what Pet Shop Boys would sound like if they fell down the rabbit hold and emerged in the enchanted forrest surrounded with fairy dust.
