Eighteen years after Don’t Ask Don’t Tell went into effect, an estimated 70,000 LGBT service members can now serve openly in the US military. President Obama signed the DADT repeal last December, but the armed forces required until today to put the policy change into action. Today, September 20, should be remembered as a day we finally got it right. Don’t miss this. Today you should be proud.
