Big ups and let’s hear a round of applause for hookers in Canada this week, as they can officially start the new year off by peddling their fine wares without getting arrested.
Canadian Justice McLachlin wrote: “Parliament has the power to regulate against nuisances, but not at the cost of the health, safety and lives of prostitutes. “The prohibitions at issue do not merely impose conditions on how prostitutes operate. “They go a critical step further, by imposing dangerous conditions on prostitution; they prevent people engaged in a risky – but legal – activity from taking steps to protect themselves from the risks.” BBC
We think its great that the prosties in Canada no longer have to hide out. This means people will be able to take better precautions, set up their business, and secure better safety for themselves.
