    To be fair, Ayds was already on its way out of the market by the time AIDS became a reality. It’s only an unfortunate name in retrospect, and unlike many of these others, is not the result of poor translation.

    To be fair, Ayds was around before the name AIDS came into usage for the disease. At the time, nobody thought it was strange.
