There’s something satisfying, even thrilling, about discovering a new band or singer. At Hercules and Love Affair‘s concert at Toronto’s Mod Club this past Monday you could sense the collective eureka as the band’s two new singers Aerea Negrot and Shaun Wright pumped up the crowd with otherworldly vocal performances and fashions to match. Along with Kim Ann Foxman, who’s significantly stepped-up her game in the two years since Hercules’ first album, the trio brought the drama to Andy Butler and Mark Pistel’s booming house beats. It was like discovering the band all over again.
