The last time we heard from Róisín Murphy she was riding a dancehall beat for Toddla T. Now, the Irish pop star is delving even deeper into the world music sound (and vision) in a new fashion film for Flemish milliner Christophe Coppens‘ spring/summer 2012 collection. The psychedelic short, entitled “Women of the Fields,” stars Murphy and features a new song called “Cré Ni A Forna” that is heavy on chanting, tribal rhythms and clanging percussion. An indication of things to come or an experimental one-off? The star has been silent on her social media feeds lately, so here’s hoping she’s hunkering down to complete the follow-up to 2007’s Overpowered album.
