Due to contract negotiations with the cast, it looks like we may soon see the end of The Simpsons. The voice actors and 20th Century Fox are locked in a debate over the 45% pay cut the studio has asked them to take, although the cast members are reportedly willing to take 30% less from their salary so long as they receive a cut from the show’s merchandising deals. The profit from said deals? It’s in the billions. My guess is they’ll be working everything out soon enough.

Who gives a shit? They’re probably the most imitated voices on Earth and could be replaced with one casting call (sorry, it’s the unemployment rate in me speaking).
I love the Simpsons but they shows gotta end at some point, right? Hopefully they can pull together a solid season and go out on the right note.
Bummer. The cast deserves at least what they are asking. The Simpsons would not be the The Simpsons without them.
20th Century Fox would be assh-les for cancelling the show instead of paying the voice actors what they deserve.

I imagine it will go much the same way as when they optioned to renew Futurama, but stated they were replacing the whole cast. That little notion didn’t last long at all. As long as the show is successful, they’ll come to an agreement.
