Kate Bush has directed a new music video for the re-recorded version of “Deeper Understanding”, a song she originally released in 1989. So prescient was her vision about computer screens emitting rainbow waves and tearing families apart that she has now decided commit this cautionary tale to film. As per usual, the video is heavy on prestigious British acting talent, namely Harry Potter actor Robbie Coltrane and Mighty Boosh comedian Noel Fielding, last seen on this blog in full “Wuthering Heights” regalia.
The track is taken from Bush’s new album Director’s Cut, which will feature new versions of songs from her The Sensual World and The Red Shoes albums. It comes out on May 16 and she’s expected to release an album of all-new material — and possibly even perform live (!) — sometime in the near future.
