SSION main man Cody Critcheloe stumbles into some intensely flattering lighting while visiting a narcissistic sex club in the music video for “My Love Grows In the Dark.” The song is taken from his 2011 album BENT, which will get a physical re-release this summer with bonus tracks and remixes through Brooklyn-based record label Dovecote. Here’s what Cody had to say about the inspiration for his latest pop opus:
“The song was written about a sex club – everything is completely dark, you have to feel your way around. No one really sees me in the video, and if they do they’re indifferent. I walk through this house where everyone is completely self-obsessed. This video will be part of a larger narrative of videos for the album Bent.”
New York City take note: SSION is playing a show at the Highline Ballroom on Friday, March 2 with Alexis Penney, Mykki Blanco, House of Ladosha and K-Holes. Check out the poster below or the FB event page for more info.
