Dave Brockie, founder and frontman of GWAR, was found dead in his Richmond, Va. home in March of this year.
To kick off this year’s GWAR B-Q, friends and family remembered Brockie by giving him a viking funeral! Yes, Oderus Urungus‘s costume was laid on a boat surrounded by offerings, pushed out onto Hadad’s Lake in Richmond, and set on fire with a flaming arrow!
An excerpt of the eulogy from Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe (via Pitchfork) “Dave is the only motherf*cker I know who has to get put away twice,” he said. “He’s too big for one fucking funeral.”
Check out the video of the lighting ceremony below! RIP, Dave Brockie!
