Did you survive the dark, cold depths of February? We sure did, all thanks to our old friend MUSIC – and we’re here to share it with you.
This month, Kelela released her first album in five years RAVEN, and it was so worth the wait! A sweet melange of R&B, dance music, and ambient, Kelela paints a picture both dark and colourful! The sultry slow jams like “Bruises” have been on heavy repeat for us.
Skrillex has shown us a wide range this month, with two new albums Don’t Get too Close and Quest for Fire. The albums feature a plethora of artists, our fav being Missy Elliott on “RATATA”! Think of it as the contemporary follow-up to her old hit single “Work It.” It’s bound to have you shaking it, faster than you thought you ever could!!!
Skrillex also teams up with rising star, Pink Pantheress in “Way Back” where his crazy dance beats and her silky soft voice make the perfect pairing.
We’ve also been digging the new U.S. Girls album Bless this Mess. With the instrumentation ranging from lo-fi and gloomy, to full orchestration, along with soulful and emotive vocals, this album is guaranteed to lift your mood. Our favourite song “Daedalus” sounds best during a soft and fuzzy winter morning!
That’s just the beginning, though… Check out the new releases from The Gorillas, Stevie Nicks, Caroline Polachek, Feist, Kali Uchis, Aquarium Drinker, and many more!
