“I know there are people who’ll say I only got this role because of who my dad is. They’re not seeing that I’ve had 10 years of acting classes, put on [high] school plays every week, worked on my characters for hours on end or the hundreds of rejected auditions I’ve been on. Of course, it’s frustrating and you can get boxed in and you think at that moment, I wish I didn’t have my last name…
But, that’s a small moment. I would never trade my life with anyone. I’m very fortunate to have the life and family that I have, the parents I have and the lessons and values they’ve instilled in me.”
– Star of The White Lotus Season 3 and nepo baby Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Apparently, you do. You responded.
No, having famous parents means connections and in the show business industry, those connections go farther than any amount of an individual’s hard work and talent. There are also all kinds of things that make it easier for a person like him to make it, like not having to work full-time at another job to pay the rent so that you can go on auditions and take meetings. It’s not being a sour lemon, it’s trying to get Americans to wake up to the fact that people with rich, connected parents have an enormous advantage over competitors.
At least he’s out there doing something! Lots of kids from famous parents are just chilling doing nothing.
I say that Patrick is good at the job he’s doing, plus he’s only going to get better. He is taking this seriously and you can tell. Watch his other works and you find him doing different roles, growing, and surprisingly (I was) good.
Now, anyone who can’t be happy for the man no matter how he got there, never hurting anybody mind you, well you are someone I don’t ever want to meet or know.
You go Patrick Schwarzenegger, you do you.
Of course he got the role because of his last name. He should accept it, stop whining, and shut up about it. No one wants to hear how unfair your super privileged life is.
I don’t see him whining. I see him saying that he’s also put in work to get to where he is. Not just costed by on his name. I’ve seen a couple of things he’s been in and to be fair, his acting is better than where his father started out playing super campy Hercules roles and basically Hercules roles. He also admits to being lucking to have his family.
As for being a nepo baby, there are just as many that don’t make names for themselves when they try to strike out on their own careers. Some of them become more infamous than famous. Others get forced into it and then spiral into hot messes because of the abuse they are exposed to at the hands of their overbearing parents and industry bigwigs that want to inflict pain and make crap tons of money.
Who gives a shit?
I’m sure the name opened doors for him, and got him callbacks, but he’s paid his dues. But why worry? no matter what you do there’s always a sour lemon who’ll try to discredit or marginalise you. I hate people.
NOTHING says sour lemon like a person that signs-off with “I hate people”!
lol
And yes, every single nepo-baby swears they did it on their own.
NOPE!
