What begins as a secret fling between two confused teenagers at 17 evolves into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self- discovery. Over the next eight years, as they chase glory on the ice, they struggle to navigate their feelings off of it. Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there’s room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile (and powerful) as real love.

I’ve never understood why woman, especially foreign younger women, are so into hockey players for the MSM fan fiction stories they write on sites like Ao3; but they are boring, sexually neutered, mostly bad and pale imitations of the kinds of erotic fiction that used to fill the pages of Blueboy, Honcho, and Advocate Men. I mean, how many self-respecting gay men would leave a sexual encounter to just a mostly or partially clothed mutual JO session?
I mean, maybe if you were 14 and doing it in a high school locker room where the fear of getting caught was a thing. But mid 20s hockey players? College students? NOPE.
I’ll check this out but I expect this is going to be the same as Heartbreaker: Gay TV for Asian teen girls, bored southern and right wing housewives, college girls too afraid of actual sex, and the like.
