!! OMG, why not wear it? Sho Konishi’s eye-popping armour !!

Armor by Sho Konishi

You may be familiar with the late photography icon Bill Cunningham’s assertion that “fashion is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life.”

If that’s the case, than New York-based creative Sho Konishi is ready to send you into the post-midterm battlegrounds with this striking armour look complete with a curvaceous codpiece. Look out Ron DeSantis, you stupid motherf*cker!

And BTW, I’m all for looking like a fetish C3P0 en route to Berghain’s closing party regardless of your age….

See more of Konishi’s creations after the jump.

For reference, watch model David Hand—aka Zadderall™️—have a go at wearing one of these custom ensembles from the Legendary Android collection.

David Hand aka Zadderall wears Sho KonishiIt’s hard to imagine outer space looking any more appealing than it currently does given earth’s #currentstatus, but this spacey suit of armour has me begging “Beam me up!”

But don’t just let Hand influence you – you’ve also seen Konishi’s work on the likes of Lizzo, Beyoncé and Paris. Ever heard of them?!

Maybe that’s why I’m delighting so much in the content of Greedy Peasant, another NYC-based phenomenon whose mission is to celebrate the wacky practices and pageantry of the Medieval Times.

I’m going to backtrack on feeling like we’re in the Middle Ages because this Slate article about Greedy Peasant —and a quote from Sara McDougall, a teacher and researcher of Medieval History at the University of New York—tells me that the time period might’ve actually been more chill than what we’re dealing with in some ways?

“Medieval Europe was incredibly weird, and incredibly queer,” McDougall says in the story. “It played with gender and played with color and shapes and fashion. And there was an obsession with men’s fashion, and how men look.”

So maybe it’s less beam us up and more take us back?
