In recent years, fashion designer and branding maestro Marc Jacobs has become quite a public-facing figure, inviting social media followers into his home on a regular basis via bathroom selfies and posts about the book he’s currently reading.
Avid followers will also have noticed his nail journey, which went from this in 2023:

Speaking of which, while Jacobs had his talons out for “fashion’s biggest night,” Dua Lipa had her booty out in a dress he designed.
Jacobs also posted a correction of some MET Gala coverage after the event, where he made a point of highlighting his emerald crystal-encrusted nails – done by New York nail artist Jenny Bui—were NOT press-ons, y’all.
Marc’s mani and Dua’s dress are two sides of the same coin, tbh. Both are steeped in camp, an aesthetic adjacent to the surreal and frankly inexplicable designs we’ve seen elsewhere of late; all totally appropriate to match the mood of the continual un-gluing of reality we’re experiencing.
