The Breakfast Club was able to get Wendy on the phone from inside her conservatorship and the former daytime queen of gossip spilled on her situation and more.
The 60-year-old’s niece, Alex, also phoned in to the conversation, echoing her aunt’s comments and providing her perspective about the residence. “She’s there in New York, in this place, essentially what some people call a luxury prison… It’s small. She has a bed, a chair, a TV, a bathroom and she’s looking out one window,” Alex explained before claiming that no one can get in contact with Williams unless she calls them, sharing, “We can’t call her. That’s been the reality since 2023. That room that she’s sitting in – she’s there every day, all hours of the day, every week, every month. She’s not getting proper sunlight.”

What Williams is calling prison like sounds like enforced boundaries that provide her life with some much-needed structure and the insistence that she take her meds. It’s very easy for outsiders like her niece to criticize when they’re not doing the day to day stuff of caring for her. If the niece feels that she can do a better job of caring for her aunt, she should petition the court to be appointed her guardian.
