!! OMG, watch the intro to Björk’s ‘Biophilia’ app album !!

For the past couple of months we’ve breathlessly followed all this Björk app album business and now the ground-breaking/game-changing Biophilia “mother” app is available to buy from the iTunes store (as of Tuesday) along with apps for the songs “Cosmogony” and “Crystalline”.
Too bad we don’t own an iPad or an iPhone. After all of that excitement, we’ll still have to wait for the vinyl version to come out so we can close our eyes and imagine orbs and munchkins riding unicorns through rainbow waterfalls using that oft-unreliable old school technology known as the human brain.
Or maybe we’ll pre-order the $800 made-to-order Biophilia Ultimate Edition, which is “presented in a lacquered and silkscreened oak hinged-lid case” and includes the Biophilia Manual, “a 48-page, full-color, hardbound, cloth-covered, and thread-sewn book, tipped on lenticular panel to the front cover, with foil-blocked spine and back cover”, a CD of the album “housed in black uncoated board wallets” and “10 chrome-plated tuning forks, silkscreened on one face in 10 different colors, stamped at the back, and presented in a flocked tray. Each fork is adjusted to the tone of a Biophilia track, covering a complete octave in a non-conventional scale.”
