Indie pop group The Magnetic Fields are back with their 10th album, Love at the Bottom of the Sea, and its lead single “Andrew in Drag” is perhaps one of their most flamboyantly gay songs yet. (No small feat.) Which is a good thing because although a lot of pop music lately seems be pandering to the gays, it could be way more flaming and contain more overt references to wiener dogs.

Love at the Bottom of the Sea is out March 6 on Merge Records.

It’s a magnificent return for Stephin Merritt and his extremely talented band. Hilarious and a joy to listen to.
