It looks as if a sequel to the 1993 comedy Mrs. Doubtfire is on its way. No word yet on whether or not Robin Williams will play a father who f*cks up AGAIN and has to try and trick the family in old lady drag AGAIN after they already know he pulled that shit in the first place or not, but according to Attitude he’s set to reprise his role and:
Harry Potter director Chris Columbus will take charge of the film, while David Berenbaum (Elf) has been hired to write the screenplay.
The original Mrs Doubtfire took $441 million (£262m) at the box office worldwide when it was released just over 20 years ago.
Crazy that the director of Harry Potter decides that a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel is what he’ll work on after Potter… the script must really be amazing! Are you looking forward to a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel? If it happens, do you think Mrs. Doubfire could promote the film by appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race?
“Crazy that the director of Harry Potter decides that a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel is what he’ll work on after Potter… the script must really be amazing!”
Why crazy? He did direct the original Mrs. Doubtfire, after all. Plus, it’s been 12 years since he last directed a Potter movie, and he’s already directed three other feature films since then…
