Disco balls and Dune type sets to eat your heart out to. (Don’t actually try eating anything while wearing glitter lipstick tho. Word to the wise!)
I feel myself becoming more inspired by shoots and less intimidated. It’s wild to have flipped through this one over the years and now be on it. Wearing clothes I actually love and feeling more myself than ever. What a trip! Thanks to everyone involved in making this day happen!
When discussing her process and sound:
“I saw comments like, Oh, you’re going Taylor Swift ‘Out of the Woods,’ and I’m like, No, no, no. Expect the unexpected. I contain multitudes,” Jepsen says. “I don’t want to have to feel like I am one thing, and I don’t want my album to feel that way, either. So I think I’ve shut off this idea of cohesiveness. I’m the thread.”
Carly Rae shares that she sent her publisher somewhere between 30-40 songs for this new album, narrowing it down from 100 song ideas.
“I overwrite. There’s no way to sugarcoat that.”
