It’s April 1 you DFs…you Shannon is being serious?
If this is really Shannon, I’m very moved by your change of heart. I’ve been reading your comments since I was in my late twenties and, along with many others, they did not help me feel good in my own body or my community. I say this not to make you feel bad – I know we all have our own process and timelines – but just that I think it’s really vital that we remain aware that people who are young, coming out, going through fragile transitions, dealing with the traumas that go along with growing up gay, porn culture, etc… they are looking for voices that will tell them how to think about themselves in relation to our world. It’s so important that we break apart so many of the myths, cliches, and judgements that contribute to the loneliness and feelings of alienation and shame for our gay and queer brothers. Too many feel they are living among competition and not community. And a hot body or a big dick or whatever isn’t what will change that.
girlies, its april fools dumbass
Hey Shannon, I was reading your dumb comments for years, glad that you want to change.
Wow now these guys are hawt
Hey everyone, it’s Shannon.
I’ve been at this for over 15 years, writing, sharing, and sometimes throwing shade. Along the way, I’ve made people laugh, but I’ve also contributed to a culture of snark that, at times, crossed the line into body shaming and unnecessary negativity.
I won’t sugarcoat it—I got caught up in body shaming, in all honesty to make myself feel better…But I’ve done some reflecting, and I see the impact words can have, especially in an online space where judgment is easy, and empathy is rare. The truth is, I’m tired. Tired of feeding a machine that thrives on tearing people down.
So, I’m making a change. Going forward, I’m committing to a different approach—one that celebrates humor without cruelty, commentary without cruelty…
This is April Fools….right?
