Actress Hari Nef was among roughly 90 people taken into custody in New York City on April 13 after joining a protest against U.S. arms sales to Israel outside the Manhattan offices of Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand. The demonstration, organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, called on the senators to support efforts to block a proposed sale of more than $600 million in bombs. Chelsea Manning and NYC Council Member Alexa Avilés were also reported among those arrested.
“And I’ll do it again. going to jail is honestly not that big of a deal!! especially when you’re surrounded by senior jewish divas who have been doing it since the ’70’s.”
