The “Who Will Save Your Soul” singer is executive producing and starring in a series of real estate mystery movie adaptations for the Hallmark Channel. Framed for Murder: A Fixer-Upper Mystery, will air January 15, 2017.
Jewel plays a home renovator turned amateur homicide detective whose original character name, Shannon Hammer, was evidently too punny for Hallmark (it’s been changed to Shannon Hughes). Colin Ferguson co-stars. Jewel previously played June Carter Cash in the TV movie Ring of Fire and appeared as herself in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. She also recently performed at a tragic roast of Ann Coulter.
