Visionary pop artist Austra has released the video for “Math Equation,” the first single from her forthcoming album Chin Up Buttercup (pre-order it here), and it is a high concept, high camp feast (literally, they eat). The song is a melancholy reflection driven by a horny, insistent beat; and the video, directed by Trevor Blumas, features a colourful cast of characters—two played by Austra herself—who deftly explore the art of torment from every side of the table.
