The German indie film Center Of My World is a movie adaptation of a popular young adult novel that focuses on a young man named Phil (played by the adorable and talented actor Louis Hofmann) after his return home from summer camp. While he was away, his town was ravaged by a storm – an event that mirrors the inner storm brooding between Phil’s thighs.
Phil realizes that he’s gay, and his town’s destruction gives him the opportunity to break away from his old self and forge a romance with a new guy in town, Nicholas (played by Jannik Schümann).

I just watched the film and it is as stated beautifully shot with two stunning
actors. the nude scenes were a surprise since U.S. coming of age films rarely
feature such scenes. the only problem I have is the somewhat ambiguous ending
and I’m not talking about whether Phil finds his father. what I mean is simple-
Phil and Nicholas and that tense scene in the garden where Phil tells Nick
that he can’t share him. Phil then just walks away. then there’s a quick cut
to Phil riding his bike in town when Kat comes up behind him saying she’ll
wait 100 years for him two talk to her again. the scenes with Nick take place
in late Summer since they’re wearing light clothing. but after the scene
with Kat the film cuts to New Year’s Eve and Phil celebrating with family
and friends. the film implies then that he hasn’t spoken to Nick or Kat
in like 3 months. but you don’t know for sure if he hasn’t that’s the
ambiguous ending.
Loved the movie, and the two men are beautiful and the story is so new but very familiar if that makes any sense but, I kind of wish for a sequel since the movie did leave me wanting more, if they ever meet again, does he find his father… and the nude scenes are tasteful and hot at times. So over all I liked it.
I hate watching gay movies where they don’t have a sex scene. What will it take to get gay sex on screen the same way straight sex can be shown on screen. I’ve seen 3-4 minute long, fully naked, dialogue heavy, unedited straight sex scenes in almost every R rated to MA rated movie, but when the gay characters start to undress, kiss and it just fades to black or it’s two guys fucking in a dark shadow filled room and it’s portrayed as sad or violent. I just want some equal gay sex scenes for once.
