!! OMG, Lily Allen says she likens the term ‘Nepo Baby’ to the ‘sexist’ way people call women ‘Karen’ !!

Singer Lily Allen, who is the daughter of British actor Keith Allen, argued that her brother Alfie, known for his work on “Game of Thrones,” doesn’t face the negative title because he’s a man:

“Nepo babies, I think it’s quite like ‘Karen’, in the sense that it’s just a word that is basically used for women who are taking up space, and we’d rather they didn’t, and they should just go away. I’m called a nepo baby all the time. I actually don’t really mind the nepotism thing, it’s the ‘baby’ that annoys me, it’s like, I’m 40 years old nearly! It’s meant to be infantilizing. Also I think it’s something that is almost exclusively used for women, I don’t think I can even really name any male nepo babies. My brother, for instance, doesn’t get called nepo baby, and I do. I feel like a lot of the time over the past 15, 20 years when I’ve been written about it will always say ‘Lily Allen, daughter of Keith Allen’ and I don’t see that happening with boys as often as it does with girls.”

While Lily’a right: Men do get away with wayyyy more, it also sounds like someone’s a little bitter about their nepo baby status! Thoughts?

  1. Maybe because her brother has talent. She has 1 or 2 decent songs and most of the press she gets is her bitching about something or someone else.

  2. Funny. When I think of Nepo Babies its mostly male ones…
The son of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe, the son of Tom Hanks, the sons of the Beckhams (they daughter hasn’t done anything yet), the son of Clint Eastwood, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, …

  3. Is it just me or are celebs these days more committed than usual to proving how out of touch they are? Read the room. If I were rich I’d just lie low, live as normally as possible and be grateful for the security.
