  1. We’ve had these here in South Australia for over a decade. They’re used along beaches to strain litter out of storm water before it goes into the ocean. They can sit empty for months, then fill overnight with a storm. Adelaide gets about 20″ of rain in a good year, mostly in winter, so they don’t fill too often. The local authorities clean them regularly so it’s rare to see them full like this.

  2. This works as long as there are no fish or animals that use the streams.

  3. Is it genius to run water through a collective filter of trash and then let it flow into the streams, and how does it not get clogged? I’m very confused. If you drink coffee or tea, you know that this is not a good idea – running water through a collective bag of trash. Right? Wrong?

    • One would assume the net bags get replaced. It’s either the trash goes in the ocean forever, or they catch it in the net, no?
