It may be a ridiculous way to protest – but a much-neeeded protest nonetheless! Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is banning customers from ordering two scoops of the same flavour until Australia legalises gay marriage! The GALL! That’ll teach em! Check out an interview about the the whole kafuffle above!
I disagree with the man from Sydney – What if children don’t want rainbow coloured icecream? And offering an extra scoop of icecream for supporting marriage equality doesn’t give children any incentive to be pro-gay, all they’ll remember is ‘hey I got an extra scoop of icecream – don’t know what for, but I’ll take it!’.
I think what Ben and Jerry’s did was right, because by not allowing people to have 2 scoops of the same flavour, it’s literally exactly what the Australian government are doing – not allowing 2 people of the same-sex to get married. I think it enforces the idea to kids that not everyone is treated equally, and that it isn’t fair. And most kids are smart (unless they’ve been brainwashed by their parents to hate others), and will find it unjust that the government doesn’t treat everyone equally.
