Brittany Allen has received an Emmy nomination for her work as terminally ill cancer patient Roxie in The Pitt. Britt looked HBO’s silence dead in the eye and said, “Fine, I’ll do it myself.” The actress, who broke hearts as terminally ill cancer patient Roxie on The Pitt, reportedly asked the network to submit her for Emmy consideration… and got crickets.
So she filled out the paperwork on her own, self-submitted, and landed the nomination anyway. CLASSIC. Somewhere in an HBO campaign meeting, a publicist is sweating.
There’s something deeply satisfying about watching an actress bet on her own performance when the people who paid for it wouldn’t. HBO may have missed the memo, but Brittany didn’t miss her shot!
