Fall/Winter 2017 is the first Marni collection not overseen by founder Consuelo Castiglioni, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but incoming creative director Francesco Risso (a Prada veteran) continued the madcap, mid-century vintage vibe that Marni is known for while exploring new proportions. Oversized pajama suits, trousers, and shaggy coats were shown alongside puffer separates, hand-painted shirts and plenty of fur hats.

I’m super into all this fashion that you guys are posting! Thanks! Haters just don’t get it.
Thanks, Chris! We’re glad you like it. There will be more…
I see we’re pulling rags out of the garbage and off thrift store racks again. #3 is a good example. Just get a bright orange long sleeved knit shirt, circa 1972, 2 sizes too big and pair that with grandpa’s old golfing trousers circa 1955, about 6 sizes too big. Add a big bouffant wig, circa 1960, dye it blue and you’re good to go. Really? At least these clothes look more recognizable as clothes. Tacky, old, creepy, ill-fitting clothes, but clothes nonetheless.
Wow… I wondered if there was ever a use for hamster fur.
