After the network and every local affiliate (!) was fined millions and shamed post-Janet Jackson by the Bush administration FCC, they’ve been gunshy about nudity. People forget that, prior to that event, primetime shows were showing backsides repeatedly and even daytime soaps AS THE WORLD TURNS and GUIDING LIGHT had started showing male rear nudity. That all stopped the day the fines were announced (hitting the local affiliates was mindblowing and financiallupy crippling for many) and since then it’s been less what the rules allow, and more about avoiding controversy and contrived payback from Republicans trying to virtue signal to their base.
