Portman plays Polina Polinski, a newly divorced Miami gallerist whose big opening goes sideways when the art influencer reviewing it (Zach Galifianakis) dies in her gallery. Her assistant Kiki (Ortega) has an idea: prop him up and call him part of the show. Then Kiki’s aunt, a legendary dealer played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, comes sniffing around. Cathy Yan directs, and the cast also includes Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Sterling K. Brown, Daniel Brühl and Charli XCX.
The film premiered at Sundance in January and opens in theatres December 4. Someone finally said out loud what everyone at an opening already thinks: the dead guy in the corner might be the best piece in the room.
