Do we actually have any indication this is an erotic film? Hopefully the standard isn’t that it has a clothed sex scene (which may be a chemrape situation) and an outright forcible rape in it–the only things I saw hinted at in the film in terms of sex. Or that we’re still settling for “male shirtlessness” or “boxers that go halfway down the guy’s legs” as enough to serve up eroticism in a film, lest we offend the straight guys.

claire denis directed a movie titled “trouble every day” which we (the friends i saw it with and i) use as a standard for cinematic awfulness.
