  1. George Michael is my daddy because he tells it like it is. No apologies…. just the truth. I respect that very much.

  2. He’s a father figure because he’s been so damn inspirational! Like a father, he’s been there for me through thick and thin.

  3. George has been through a lot and always seems to come out shining and that shows true perseverance(SP) and if that is not fatherly, then I don’t know what is!

It’s pretty simple really. He is a man who publicly went through the emotional, physical, and psychological struggles that most gay men endure until they’ve learned to open up and embrace who they are. You have to admire someone who has the endurance to pull through the shit he went through, all while the tabloids ate it up.
I remember being too little to know who George Michael was, but my parents bought me his cassette tape (my first) cause I would dance like CRAZY everytime I heard one of his/Wham’s songs. I still have the tape and still listen to it, but I think it’s time for an upgrade. I wanna dance to the real thing.

  8. Hey Frank! I actually won one of the George Michael DVD’s from a contest posted on this site! So thanks! You may now have my testimonial that: “People really do win on OMG Blog Dot Com.”
P.S. Seeing George at MSG in July thanks to his drummer who is getting me on the list!

  9. I would like George Michael to be my Father Figure because he’s got a beautifully hairy chest that I’d love to rub my face in as I admire him and tell him how proud I am to be his son. I’d do everything I could to lure him into my bed, because I want his sex, too!!!

  10. he is my father figure because out of all the struggles george michael has gone through in his life and in his career he has risen above everything and is still around inspiring people all over the world with his music. he is still making the great music that we all fell in love with when he first started his music career. he has true staying power.

  11. Because he insisted i call him that, and i’m easily persuaded.

In Bangkok in the 80’s–before the Internet, when BKK was still very, far–I had George Michael on my Walkman. His songs and his voice transported me home. He was at once my daddy and my baby boy. Overwhelmed, the tears streamed down my face. Throughout his triumphs and travails he has always been my father and my son, and ever will he be.

  13. Why is George Michael my #1 musical Daddy?
He woke me up each morning, as I slept each night faithfully with my stuffed monkey, not with a careless whisper, but a loving breath, because I knew he was waiting for me before he had to go-go to work. Throughout each day he was the perfect father figure and he would graciously give my mother everything she wants. Each night before I crawled in bed I would pray for time to spend more and more with him. My Daddy would creak open my bedroom door each night, and with one more try, his hand would move toward that light switch, to distinguish that glowing orb creeping on the ceiling, and I thought don’t let that sun go down on me…”good night, Daddy.”

  14. Are you kidding? He’s the ultimate daddy and has been for years. He’s hot, he’s gay and who wouldn’t want to have bathroom sex with him? Fastlove? Anytime!

  15. He’s just HOT! He is a daddy, and since I don’t have one, I want him for my daddy!

  16. Dearest George,
Lately I have been Praying for Time – perhaps just one Moment With You. See all these years you have been my Father Figure, and I’ve had a lot of Faith that one of these days you will Heal My Pain.
I remember the First Time Ever I Saw Your Face on my TV screen, it was just like Jesus to a Child.
I have to admit, there was a time when I really did Want Your Sex, but lets face it, I Can’t Make You Love Me, you know, if you don’t.
Now all I know is that I would die happy with only one Careless Whisper from your sweet lips. And so what you might be Kissing A Fool – maybe if you gave me One More Try you just might care for me also.
Well if you just want to give me your Fastlove, I’ll take that too. One sweet role in the hay would do it for me, but George, if you stay the night, please be sure to Wake Me Up Before you Go-Go.
    Cowboys and Angels,
    -David M.
p.s. please Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me 🙁

  17. When I was 18 (in 1988) and living in southeast georgia, i was a slightly chubby, slightly pastey, somewhat girly white boy. Until, that is, I heard George Michael’s “I Want Your Sex.”
For some reason, that song conjured fantasies in my mind of becoming a go-go dancer in a jock strap, and embracing and enjoying sexuality.
So, I dropped 20 pounds, buffed up, got a tan, went to Hotlanta, danced in my jock strap and Doc Martens, and spent the weekend with Mr. Leather Atlanta. I haven’t looked back.
George Michael is my father figure because he taught me that it was ok (even better than ok) to enjoy sex.

George is my father figure because i feel his music is speaking to me in a way no other artist has. It always feels like he is helping me with my problem instead of telling me about his.

  19. George Michael is the ultimate father figure because who wouldn’t want a dad like that to sing you to sleep? George’s best songs, which focus on his crystal clear voice, are still able to pierce the soul. To be able to go from “Wham Rap” to songs like “A Different Corner” or “Praying for Time” truly shows his evolution as an artist. Plus, girlfriend is proudly GAY, and damn, we need more artists like him.

  20. I have been a fan since Wham! first came on the scene. My college dorm had “Whamfests” after getting back from going to the bar. And I also appreciate the way that George’s music matured, showing a more serious side. And he takes himself seriously – but not too seriously.

  21. Hello!
Why is George Michael my father figure?? Well, it’s because of this: More than once, after watching Wham’s music video for ‘Wake Me Up Before you Go Go’, I have had a recurring dream. The dream goes something like this: I’ve stayed out late – well past my curfew – and my Dad (George Michael, of course) is waiting up for me. He’s mad. Anyway, I won’t go into details, but it involves a spanking (and yes, he’s wearing the gloves from the Wham video).
Thanks for listening. Sorry for the too much information!

  22. GEORGE—
I will be your Father Fucker (Oh baby)
Put your ankles by my ears (I’d love to)
I will be your preacher teacher (Be your daddy)
Everything I have in mind (It would make me)
I will be your Father Fucker (Very happy)
I haven’t had enough sex crimes (Please let me)
I will be the one who bangs you
    till the end of time

The simple transitive property: George Michael=Person who performs illegal sexual acts. Person who performs illegal sexual acts=Priest. Priest=Father. Therefore, George Michael is a father figure.

  24. Why is George michael my father figure? First I grew up listening to Wham and to George Michael. Second when I first saw the “Wake me Up Before You Go Go” video and George in those TINY short shorts I knew he was my kind of man. And finally he is a positive gay role model (for the most part, we will forget that park incident!) for many young gay men.

  25. I always fantasized that George was Andrew Ridgely’s daddy, and that was good enough for me (picture Daddy’s head in Andrew’s lap while making SOMETHING big!)
I just loved the album/song titles, too. “Make it Big”, Bad Boys”, “I’m Your Man” and, certainly, when George DIDN’T shave his chest hair, he was so hot, and Andrew’s and MY, Father Figure!
You’ve got IT so, GM. flaunt it, Daddy!
See ya in Tampa! (I hope)!

Taught me how to rock on stage, while making both men and women gasp for air….

He was a father fiqure because growing up my father wasnt around much and when i listed to his music or what his music video i felt like my dad was their with me the way he was in videos and on stage made me feel like my dad was standing next to me in spirt George Micheal Music Help ed me deal with my dad not be in life
when i was down or sad i would put on a george micheal cd and i would listen to it and it would make me feel better like i had just had a talk with my father.
Thank you George Micheal for helping me throught some bad times in my life

  29. Wow…George Michael!!! He’s one of my favorites… I loved his song “Purple Rain”… lol

  30. George Michael is my “father figure” because I see many similarities between the two of us. Both of us were outed before we were ready, due to reckless behaviour… Both of us are musicians… Both of us are gay, but don’t allow “being gay” to define us… But most importantly, George Michael became a key figure in the public eye as representative of what a gay man in the pop music world looks like. He could’ve easily kept denying who he truly was, but chose to use the opportunities presented to him to become a positive role model in the gay community and society as a whole. Sure he’s made mistakes, but who among us has not? It’s what we all learn from those mistakes that makes George Michael a “father figure” to me.

  31. George Michael is my father figure because, at a time when my own father was disgusted by my homosexuality, I had someone like George Michael to look up to.
*as cheesy as this sounds, it’s true – I’m originally from Kansas. Not a lot of gays in Kansas, okay 🙂 *

  32. because i was born in 1981.
