Bonjay is an up-and-coming dancehall duo that is so much more than ass n’ air horns (not that there’s anything wrong with ass n’ air horns). This week they released an excellent six-track mini-album called Broughtupsy that mixes deep dark dancehall-style beats with furious vocals and moody melodies. Mainly though, we are extremely blown away by the vocal range and unbridled emotion that singer Alanna Stuart brings to the Bonjay stage, so if the band stops by your town on their fall tour of North America, you should definitely check them out.
Below you can listen to Bonjay’s cover of the Caribou song “Jamelia”, their versions of “Honey, Honey” and “How My Heart Behaves” by Feist and the Broughtupsy track “Stumble”. Tour dates after the jump!
