My favourite part is the skinheads on the couch pretending to laugh. I can’t tell if this is for real or not – the phone number at the end is obviously fake and there’s no address. In any case it’s worth watching just to see the Golden Globe-worthy performances and Boy George’s ringing endorsement. Pun intended.

Yeah it is real, I vaugely remember seeing it advertised here in the UK. Although this advert is so funny, the people in Americans ads are so hillariously fake its great.
It’s the Super 8 reservation line! Yup, I called I have nothing better to do!
This is from awhile ago — before Taboo played in The West End (and Broadway for that matter) and after the Culture Club reunion tour. George has noted it to be the only officially licensed piece of junk that he has approved … strange choice, if you ask me, but then, he is strange (which is why I remain a fan)…
Congratulations on this blog’s Best POST EVER!
Yeah. That would be a real great work phone. And not annoying at all for those around you.
boy george’s hat is amazing. part of me wishes this thing was real.
Yes, this is real. It was only sold in the UK/Europe and they tried to sell them in North America, but I don’t think that happened. It started with the phone being a prop for a commerical, and people went crazy wanting to know where they could buy one, so they actually made them for sale. You can still find them on e-bay every once in a while.
Its 4 real. it started off as a fake in a british tv ad 4 BT an it was so popular it was then made real.
