Normally, there’s nothing so shocking about men wearing high heels (it’s more surprising not to see stilettos on Drag Race, after all) — but, as CNN reports, for a group of fraternity brothers at Western Kentucky University, this week marked a first. The guys strut their stuff for a mile across campus wearing red heels as part of the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign. While raising awareness about violence towards women, the brothers also raised $1,000 for rape crisis center Hope Harbor, which for once makes me not loathe bros. (But just this once.)
This has been done at this school, WKU, for several years now. It is not strictly men wearing high heels but also a walk and race in them as well, for both genders, and has benefited the local organization. This has been a positive example of the fraternity stepping up and making their pledge to help change. Way to go, guys!!! Violence against women is not a laughing matter and their participation in this event shows that.
Wow, Shannon, did you even watch the video? I saw NO ONE laughing, plus anything that raises awareness of violence towards women is a very good thing… It was also nice to see young men learning from the experience of having to wear heels…
My fraternity is doing the same thing in a couple weeks!
Awesome! Frat boys setting a good example and doing good things. Love it.
WHO CARES?????? THEY THINK THIS TIRED SHIT IS SOOOOOO FUNNY WHEN IT SOOOOOOO TIRED….
